Founded on November 5, 1865, the First Baptist Church of Junction City is one of the community’s earliest and most enduring congregations. Throughout the years, we’ve remained steadfast in our commitment to faithful Bible teaching, warm fellowship, and serving Junction City through worship, discipleship, and outreach.

At First Baptist Church of Junction City, our mission is fulfilling the Great Commission in unity—faithfully sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and growing together in love and obedience to God’s Word.

Pastor Doug Brown was licensed to preach in 1996 and ordained in 2006. He served in youth ministry for 14 years and spent four years as a chaplain at a children’s institution. In 2004, he accepted the call to pastor First Baptist Church in Osage, Iowa, and in 2008, he began serving at Newport Baptist in Newport, Ohio. In 2018, he moved to Junction City to serve as pastor of First Baptist Church, where he continues to minister with a heart for preaching, teaching, and community outreach.
